Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels will be joined by federal, state and local officials to open the first three sections of the new I-69 corridor in southwest Indiana. In Valparaiso, the Vale Park Road Bridge over State Road 49 is scheduled to open this Wednesday (Nov 21), according to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). Five people have now died in Indiana due to the fungal meningitis outbreak that has killed over 30 people, and sicked nearly 450 in the U-S. This reminder today from Valparaiso's Director of Public Works: Matt Evans says city residents have only a couple of weeks left to get those leaves out to the street for the leaf vacuums. Last pass for those vacuums this season in Valpo is November thirtieth.
