Traveling Wall Convoy Tuesday

A huge convoy --possibly as many as 400-500 vehicles -- will escort the American Veterans Traveling Tribute and Traveling Vietnam Wall to Purdue University North Central Tuesday morning. Participants are scheduled to leave Hammond at 10 am, and travel down 80/94 and 94 exiting south on US 412 to the P-N-C campus in Westville.  Anyone who'd like to join in the ride can do so -- you're asked to be at the Cabela's parking lot in Hammond by 8 or 8:30 am.

The Traveling Tribute features an 80-percent scale version of the Vietnam Wall as its cornerstone, and across the 360-foot length, the wall contains all the names etched in the original wall in Washington DC.

The National POW/MIA Flag will also be on campus.  The 40-by-60-foot flag will be hoisted atop a crane being provided by Tonn & Blank Construction Co. adjacent to US 421.

Radio One Communications is scheduled to broadcast reports from Hammond Tuesday morning and be part of this ride.
