Body Found in Lowell

Lake County Sheriffs Police are investigating the discovery of a body in the driver's seat of a vehicle found in a wooded area east of the one-seventy-one-hundred block of Mount Street east of Lowell Sunday afternoon. Lake County Sheriffs Department Public Information Officer Patti Van Til says positive identification is pending DNA testing due to the extent of decomposition. Police say tracks show the vehicle left Mount Street onto a farm path, then left the path and went through a bean field into a wooded area under the vehicle struck a tree. Authorities say the cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma, pending further investigation.
