The ramp from northbound I-65 to the westbound Borman was partially closed nearly seven hours today after an accident involving a semi loaded with 42-thousand pounds of beer during the rush hour this morning. Indiana State Police say it appears the semi going too fast to negotiate a curve on the ramp... and the load shifting from not being properly secured inside the trailer caused the vehicle to roll over onto its passenger side. Troopers say the driver was taken to Methodist Hospital Gary with non-life threatening injuries.
Crews had to off-load the beer before the semi and trailer could be uprighted. Traffic was getting through using the left lane of the ramp but that backed up northbound I-65 to just north of US-30. Traffic returned back to normal at around 3:30 p.m.
