Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller [zeller] has announced a new "Hope Card" is now available to protect victims of abuse and help law enforcement quickly identify those who violate protective orders. With the assistance of a 30-thousand dollar grant from HopeLine from Verizon, Indiana is the third state to launch the program and the first state to rely solely on private grants for funding. The wallet-sized Hope Cards will feature victim information and data on the abuser including their photo, sex, race, date of birth, height, weight and identifying marks. HopeLine collects used phones which are sold or recycled, and proceeds are donated to domestic violence prevention and treatment organizations in the form of cash grants.
