Shooting Suspect Surrenders to Police

Portage Police say a 20-year-old Gary man accused of shooting a 72-year-old tow truck driver from Portage in the victim's front yard earlier this month turned himself in yesterday. Police say Dontaye Singletary is being held at the Porter County Jail with no bond. On Tuesday, police announced another suspect, 42-year-old Sheurice Major of Portage, had been arrested on murder and conspiracy charges. Portage Police Chief Troy Williams says Carl Griffith Senior was shot multiple times in the front yard of his home on Locust Street the night of November first.
