Authorities are investigating the death of a 29-year-old Gary man struck and killed by a train Saturday afternoon in the 900 block of Wallace Street. The Lake County Coroners office says the man suffered blunt force trauma, but manner of death was listed as pending. Coroners officials say the man was pronounced dead shortly before 4pm. The Times reports authorities are trying to determine why the man was near the railroad tracks.
