Indiana Gets 1.1 Millions from Pfizer Settlement

A multi-state settlement with drug maker Pfizer on Wednesday, worth 42.9 million dollars, has Indiana set to receive 1.1 million dollars. Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller joined with 32 other attorney generals to resolve allegations the company unlawfully promoted two of its drugs, Lyrica and Zyvox. Zoeller's office reports Pfizer promoted Lyrica for off-label uses, and used misleading and unsubstantiated superiority claims regarding Zyvox. Zoeller says, “off-label marketing can put patients unnecessarily at risk.” As part of the settlement, Pfizer has agreed to reform how it markets and promotes its drugs.
