Published reports say a Hammond police officer shot in the leg while responding to a bank robbery is expected to make a full recovery. The US Attorney's Office says two 24-year-old men were taken into custody in Gary in connection with the robbery at BMO Harris Bank near 173^rd and Indianapolis Boulevard last Friday, and a detention hearing was scheduled for today.
