The Newtown, Connecticut, tragedy, and Thursday's incident in Taft, California, has left many who work with children struggling to find other potential options to keep kids safe and secure. Steven Gill, Northwest Indiana Field Representative, of the Indiana Youth Institute, says on January 22nd, from 11:30am to 1pm, at the Marquette Mall Office Building in Michigan City, they are hosting a forum that that will explore procedures to use in the event an active shooter and how to prevent an attack from happening.
The forum will feature Mike Clark of the Galveston, Indiana, Police Department, who bases his discussion on the ALICE, or Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate, Violent Intruder Program.
