Man Arrested in Teen's Death

A 27-year-old Calumet City man has been charged  in connection with the death of a 16-year-old Calumet City girl whose body was found in a dumpster in the 5900 block of Hyslop in Hammond last Thursday.  Lake County Coroners officials say Jessica Tetter suffered trauma to the head and body.  Calumet City Police say after a review of the case by the Cook County States Attorney's office, a person of interest was identified as 27-year-old John Hurt, who was charged with First Degree Murder and Concealment of a Homicidal Death and taken to Cook County Court in Markham for a bond hearing June 10.  No information on the hearing was available at this hour. Police say the suspect is known to the family of the victim and the investigation continues.
