Possible Drowning Off Beverly Shores

A water rescue in Lake Michigan has turned into a recovery mission as dive teams from the DNR and the U.S. Coast Guard search the shore off the Beverly Shores area for a possible drowning victim.  At around 3:15pm Monday, 911 dispatch received a call of an overturned tube/raft containing two swimmers about 100 yards from shore near Lake Front Dr. and Shore Avenue. Reportedly, one swimmer made it back while crews were searching for the other person. About an hour later a call of assistance to search for the swimmer went out the Lake County's helicopter.
