Daniels to Purdue? Trustees Meet Today

The Purdue Board of Trustees will meet at 10 a.m. [Eastern Time] today (June 21) in West Lafayette to vote on the candidate nominated to be the university's 12th president -- and there's been widespread speculation it could be Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels. France Córdova [france like the country, core'-duh-vuh], Purdue's 11th president, announced last July her intention to leave the office July 15 after five years in the post. Daniels' second term as governor ends at the end of the year, and he is prohibited by term limits from running for re-election this year.

Purdue North Central in Westville will carry the webcast of the announcement on a large screen in the Library-Student Faculty Building Assembly Hall.
