Officials say a ten-year-old boy from East Chicago died after disappearing in the waters of Wolf Lake in Hammond Friday evening. Police say the child was swimming with a 13-year-old friend when the younger child went missing. The two were at the lake with the friend's mother, police say. Fire and police responded including a county helicopter. Crews tried to revive the child but he passed away. Hammond Police Chief Brian Miller says the child was in the water for more than an hour.
