1st Source Bank is warning the public of a telephone scam involving automated calls being made to clients and non-clients telling them their 1st Source MasterCard has been deactivated...and instructing people to enter their card number and PIN to reactivate. The bank says no client information was taken and that it seems a robot calling system is being used to randomly select telephone numbers. The calls were initially placed to numbers with a 574 area code and now include numbers with a 219 and 260 area code as well. 574 includes South Bend, 260 includes the Fort Wayne area. 1st Source stresses it will NEVER call or send an e-mail asking for a client's account number, password or PIN.
