A homeowner apparently walked into a possible home invasion in Hebron Tuesday afternoon. Lake County Sheriffs Police say it started at around 4p.m. when a man who returned to his home in the 15400 block of Clay Street, noticed a gold Buick parked near his barn. Reports say the driver approached the homeowner saying his friend was looking for someone at the house, after which the subject reportedly attempted to attack the homeowner. Defending himself, police say the homeowner knocked the subject to the ground but after realizing the back door was open the homeowner immediately went back inside and was confronted by a second subject. Reports say the homeowner also fought that subject eventually landing him outside on the ground where he reamained until police found him, trnasporting him to a hospital emergency room, where he remains under guard. According to police, the homeowner then noticed the first suspect and his car were gone. Police later found and arrested the suspect, a 28-year-old-Lowell man, at his residence. His mother was also taken into custody for reportedly interfering with the arrest of her son.
