BP Refinery in Whiting has notified Northwest Indiana fuel distributors that it is recalling gasoline from one of their storage tanks from their Whiting fuel storage terminal , may cause mechanical problems for motorists. According to BP the gasoline affected is unleaded regular that came from the refinery August 13st through the 17^th. The gasoline reportedly could have been sold at BP stations and other retail outlets in the Region. The refinery has established a customers hotline for motorists experiencing the recent engine performance problems mentioned above (800) 333-3991.
