September is National Preparedness Month and the Indiana State Department of health has launched a “30 Days, 30 Ways to Prepare” campaign. The ISDH says one way to prepare is to put together an emergency tool kit containing at least a three days supplies to meet the needs of you and your family in the event of a disaster. The agency says the tool kit should include; an emergency contact card, a first aid kit, at least one change of clothing, non-perishable food items, flashlights and batteries, and cash—if the electricity is out, ATM's and credit card machines will not work. Have a plan for your pets too. For daily preparedness tips visit www.statehealth.in.gov.
