The number of confirmed cases of fungal meningitis in Indiana is now just shy of 60. The Indiana State Department of Health today reports 59 cases linked to an epidural steroid injection used primarily for back and joint pain, with the death toll remaining at six. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's website, at last check there are over 500 cases and nearly 40 deaths contributed to the outbreak in the U.S.
