Authorities have filed charges against a homeless man who remains at-large at last check regarding a stabbing incident Monday inside the restroom of the East Chicago South Shore Passenger Station. NICTD Transit Police say 24 year old Jawaun Dontell Woods, a Gary resident, was charged with attempted murder, attempted murder while committing a robbery, robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, and carjacking, all felony offenses. Police say Woods is considered armed and dangerous, and that anyone who comes into contact with him, or knows of his location, should immediately call 9-1-1. NICTD Police say the silver 2005 Honda Accord, Illinois license plate number H713340, taken by Woods, and has not yet been recovered. The victim reportedly was able to identify Woods as his attacker, from a police photo line-up, after video from a Lansing, Illinois, Walmart, and the victim's stolen credit card put him there within 40 minutes after the alleged assault occurred.
