The Porter County Sheriff's Office is once again reminding the public to lock your vehicles, and homes, after a recent rash of thefts. Porter County Sheriff's Department Spokesman Sgt, Larry LaFlower says in the last few weeks there have been seven reported thefts from vehicles in the Aberdeen subdivision in Center Township, and six reported thefts from vehicles in the Lake Eliza area, in Porter Township, along with five residential break-ins. Sgt. LaFlower says residents are advised to keep your home's window's and doors locked, and to close your blinds during the daylight hours, and to also lock your vehicle and remove any items of value from plain sight, or to take them with you. Sgt. LaFlower says in most of these incidents the vehicles were left unlocked.
