The city of Hobart started the new year with a new face in the ranks of the city's police department. Just a few days before the start of 2013, Hobart Mayor Brian Snedecor administered the oath of office to 21-year-old Cody Riggle of Crown Point. Officials say Riggle is the fifty-sixth officer on the department, its current authorized strength. Chief Jeff White lauded the addition of Riggle, noting his commitment to the community as a volunteer reserve officer prior to his appointment.
