After Monday's inauguration ceremony, Indiana's new Governor Mike Pence signed fifteen executive orders, including one that puts a moratorium on any new state regulations until his administration can review the costs and benefits of ones that are currently in effect. Another order requires certain state agencies, including the Family and Social Services Administration, to develop family impact statements to assess the impact of state rules on families. Another order designates an ethics officer in each state agency. Governor Pence also signed an order requiring the Indiana Education Employment Relations Board, the state board that oversees teacher contract negotiations, to return to its historical practice of reporting to the governor's office.
