Valparaiso Police say an elderly man reported missing by his wife Thursday night was found safe about two-and-a-half hours later. Police say the 82-year-old man, who was reported to have early stages of dementia, had left his home to pick-up dinner from a local restaurant when he failed to return after nearly two-hours. Police started checking local establishments, then he was entered into a national computer system and a phone alert was sent to local residents. At 9:45, Sgt. John Patston searching along U-S 30 found a vehicle and subject matching the description at a gas station at Sturdy Road, and the man was eventually reunited with his family.
