US 30 Shut Down Just West of Valpo

Just west of Valparaiso, both directions of US 30 and part of Joliet Road are shut down after a car struck a utility pole around 10-o'clock this morning. Chief Tim Beach with Union  Fire Rescue tells us a car struck a utility pole on the north side of US 30 at Joliet, knocking the pole completely down, and sending power lines across the highway. Beach the there were two people in the car; no injuries, both refused treatment from EMS.  it's not known how long the highway will be closed.
