The East Chicago Police Department is teaming up with experts at I-U Northwest to seek better ways to allocate its resources for more proactive and productive policing. Chief Mark Becker says they are extremely excited about this opportunity with I-U Northwest, who have provided similar services to the City of Gary, and that they could receive information back as soon as next week.
School of Public and Environmental Affairs Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, Joseph Ferrandino, Ph. D., and his students will analyze crime statistics and other data collected by the East Chicago Police Department over the past five-years, and present to findings at regular meeting with the East Chicago Police Department.
