In Gary, police are urging motorists to take it slow in the snowstorm and to watch the signs – parking signs, to avoid being towed and big fines that follow. Gary Police Corporal Public Information Officer Gabrielle King says you could end up spending around 200-dollars to get your car back, when you take into account the fees and relatively new tow-release fee. Because of the winter storm, Gary residents are advised to follow the posted signs about not parking on snow routes when accumulation is more than two inches. The National Weather Service says we could be getting eight inches or more in this storm.
