Purdue Calumet to Award 50,000th Degree Saturday

Purdue University Calumet will award its 50-thousandth degree on Saturday afternoon during ceremonies recognizing a spring graduation class of more than one-thousand undergraduate and graduate scholars at the Hammond Civic Center. Chancellor Thomas Keon says, “the awarding of 50-thousand degrees is a clear indication of the impact Purdue University Calumet has had in northwest Indiana and beyond.” Chancellor Keon, Purdue President Mitch Daniels and representatives from the Purdue Board of Trustees will oversee the graduations, which will also include Purdue Calumet's first degree recipient in 1967, Dr. John S. Brown III, a board certified physician in emergency medicine and urgent care and CEO of Four Seasons Medical Center in Merrillville and Lakes of the Four Seasons.
