In Lake Station, the Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters members from Local 1005 presented the Edison High School Boys Track Team with a six-hundred dollar check, and the monies have gone toward purchasing disc and shot equipment, uniforms, sweat suits, t-shirts, snacks and drinks for the team. “From the bottom of my heart, we really appreciate it so much,” said Boys Track team head coach Christina Elizondo. “For many of the young men on our team, this is their third sport of the school year, and the money isn’t as readily available now as it was in the fall season. They are such a great group of hardworking, well-mannered individuals, and to be able to provide them with new uniforms and equipment is so wonderful. We cannot thank Local 1005 enough.” “Keith Durbin, a Local 1005 member with a son on the track team, mentioned that the team was in need of funding to provide the young men with new uniforms and equipment,” said Dale Newlin, IKORCC Treasurer. “The kids were really excited when we presented them with the check, and we are really pleased to know that the donation has already made an impact on their season.” The Indiana/Kentucky/Ohio Regional Council of Carpenters represents more than 32,000 professional tradespeople in 43 locals in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and parts of West Virginia and Tennessee.
