Traffic Study Says Indy Among Least Congested

A new study on commute times says an Indiana city is one of the least congested while some of the worst traffic is out west.  According to GPS company TomTom, an average driver in Los Angeles spends ninety hours a year stuck in traffic -- the most in the nation. San Francisco and Honolulu rank second and third. LA also is the fourth most congested city in the world, behind Rio, Mexico City and Sao Paulo. Meanwhile, Kansas City and Indianapolis rank as the least congested. Chicago came in at number 19 on the list. In most US cities, traffic is worst during Thursday evening commutes. The study also found that severe weather was a significant cause behind some of last year's busiest traffic days across the country. New results also showed common traffic shortcuts drivers take to avoid congestion are actually adding 50% more travel time to trips.  For more info click here: http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20140604005615/en#.U48ea3JdVyI
