A not-for-profit organization in Porter County is now accepting donations for a resale store anticipated to open in Chesterton by the end of June. Judy Alders, Executive Director of NeighborhoodLink Porter County, told the Region News Team they are accepting donations of new or gently used building materials, doors, windows, furniture, appliances and tools for the RePurpose Place and the donations will be used to build an inventory that will be used to complete projects and raise funds for those in need.
Alders says to make a donation you need to schedule an appointment, then drop off the items at 102 Beverly Drive in Chesterton. She says they could maybe pick up items, but the turnaround time on that could be several weeks as they are, at this time, trying to secure a truck.
