Two NW Indiana Banks Receive National Honor

Indiana Bankers Association



A number of banks in the Hoosier state, members of the Indiana Bankers Association, were honored in April as “Top 200 Community Banks” in the country by American Banker magazine, including two in northwest Indiana. Horizon Bank in Michigan City ranked 56th, while Peoples bank in Munster ranked 135th out of 200. A total of 851 institutions nationwide qualified for the ranking by posting a three-year average return on equity of eight-point-six-six percent or higher.
