Country's Top Rail Leader wants to Improve Rail Traffic

To help unstop rail traffic congestion in Northwest Indiana, the country's chief rail administrator on Friday says he wants to see the development of an authority for regional rail development, comparable to Chicago's CREATE plan.  According to the Times, the Obama administration's Grow America Act calls for about 19-billion to be allocated for rail projects and according to a Times article, the act includes a provision for Regional Rail Development Authorities to promote local input for rail projects.  The problem is, the U.S. Congress has not yet approved funding for the four-year transportation plan.  Federal Rail Administrator Joseph Szabo (zay'-boe) addressed some 200 rail executives and others at Rail Summit 2014 at Chicago's Union League Club.
