6 Year Old Boy Calls 911 After Mother Has Medical Emergency

A six-year old boy who learned to use 911 in school, and by his mother, utilized that experience on Saturday afternoon after his mother experienced a medical emergency on westbound I-80/94, just west of Ripley Street. Indiana State Police Lowell Post reports dispatch received the call just after 4pm and a trooper in the area arrived shortly thereafter, contacted an ambulance and stabilized the 31 year old woman from Thornton, Illinois, who was transported to the hospital. Two children in the vehicle, a four year old boy and the six year old boy who called 911, were released to an aunt.
