INDOT reports the traffic signal is up and running at US 30 and Taft Street. Overnight, about a ten-mile stretch of US 30 was shut down from I-65 in Merrillville and US 41 in Schererville, so INDOT and NIPSCO crews could make repairs to lines and lights damaged in Monday's night severe weather. It was initially thought the closure, from 10 pm Wednesday would continue until 10 am this morning, but work was completed much earlier than expected. The intersection of US 30 and Taft was the only area to stay closed as repairs continued. The signal at that intersection came down and was on westbound lanes of US 30 Tuesday morning.
