Salvation Army convention returns to South Shore, providing another boost to the Region economy, according to the South Shore Convention and Visitors Bureau. The Salvation Army Spiritual Life Summit and Commissioning convention is traditionally the largest convention held in northwest Indiana, and will bring about 15-hundred attendees to the region to participate in the three-day long event, June 8th thru the 10th. While most of the convention will be held at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza in Merrillville, restaurants and business should see the economic impact brought by such a large convention, and the visitors authority is advising restaurants and businesses to have additional staff on hand to accommodate extra patrons this weekend.
