At the front steps of Valparaiso City Hall, officials gathered early this morning to announce GreenTown is coming to town this fall. The two-day conference being held at Valparaiso University in September (Sept 27-28) is expected to attract hundreds of people from the public and private sector in and around Indiana and the midwest. Valparaiso Mayor Jon Costas says a conference like this also brings the Region together to learn from each other, to build sustainable practices into area communities. Topics will include green economy, local food/healthy living, clean water, green infrastructure, complete streets.
