The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Law Enforecment says the Lake Michigan search for 15 year old Corey McFry of Portage was suspended at dusk Monday after 13 hours of boats using side scan sonar, scuba divers searching the bottom and helicopters searching from the sky were unable to locate the teen. “We have utilized personnel from many agencies in an attempt to make this recovery. It’s amazing to see the co-operative response in a tragedy like this. Manpower from the state, county and cities have all been involved, along with the US Coast Guard in the early response” said Indiana Conservation Officer Gene Davis. Davis says crews will be looking at a transition in the type of search for today, with the most effective search at this stage to concentrate on the surface. Boats will also expand the search area.
