Cyclists in the tenth annual Cops Cycling for Survivors bicycle ride leave Merrillville today on their way to Kentland in Newton County for the next leg of their nearly two-week-long journey around the perimeter of the state, riding about a-thousand miles to raise funds for suriving family members and co-workers of officers killed in the line of duty thru the Indiana chapter of concerns of police survivors. Indiana State Police Master Trooper Sgt. Rich Crawford says riders were staying the night last night at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza, and will pull out of the hotel starting the trek on US 30 to US 41, stopping at the St. John Police Department on their way south, then going on to Lowell for lunch, then to Kentland for the night.
Retired Lake County Police Chief Gary Martin and Indiana State Police Lt.
