Strong storms are moving across Northwest Indiana this morning.  The National Weather Service reports winds of 73 miles per hour were measured in Griffith just after 7am CDT and about 15-minutes before that, 63 mph winds in Lansing, Illinois.

Forecasters were also saying that for portions of Newton and Jasper Counties (and Iroquois Co Illinois) would experience wind damage well ahead of any rain or lightning.
