Charges Filed in Gary Fire Deaths

Gary Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson, alongside Gary Police Chief Wade Ingram and members of the Gary Police and Fire Departments Thursday, announced charges had been filed against two Lake Station men, accused of murder, murder in the perpetration of arson and arson in the blaze that killed 33-year-old Bernice King and her 14-year-old daughter Angel Harris at Lakeshore Dunes apartments last week. Police allege the deadly fire that also left dozens homeless was set after a disagreement over a deal involving an X-Box and marijuana. Freeman-Wilson attended funeral services for the victims earlier in the day.
