The Indiana State Police is teaming up with the DEA to take part in the fifth nationwide “Prescription Drug Take Back” initiative on Saturday, September 29th. Captain David Bursten, Commander of the State Police, says the program seeks to prevent drug abuse and theft by collecting expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs to be disposed of for destruction. This service is free and anonymous with no questions asked. The only restriction is we will not accept new or used needles. Captain Bursten says the program is intended for liquid and pill medications and as before, the drugs may be dropped off at any Indiana State Police Post, except the Toll Road Post on Saturday, September 29th between the hours of 10 am and 2 pm.
