Indiana School Superintendent Dr. Tony Bennett says more Indiana students are participating and succeeding in courses and tests that support college and career readiness. Bennett's announcement coincides with today’s release of The SAT Report on College and Career Readiness, which revealed the average SAT reading score in the country fell to 496, the lowest since 1972. The report also says 57 percent of test takers have scores suggesting they're not ready for college, same percentage as last year. The Board says more than one-point-66-million students in the class of 2012 took the S-A-T, the largest class of S-A-T takers in history.
