There was a ribbon-cutting ceremony at I-U Northwest in Gary today, to celebrate technology renovations made this summer. Chief Information Officer of Indiana University Northwest, Beth Van Gordon, says excellent instructional opportunities, like the addition
of the Marram Hall Student Technology Center, which just opened this semester, was one was the goals of the University's strategic plan for empowering people. Director of Microcomputer Support, Mark Uncupher, says upgrades like the new tech center are all part of bringing the “main campus experience” closer to home. Van Gordon says the technology design of room, of which Uncupher was instrumental in creating, will also be ready to meet the new mobile demands of students, for now and in the future, with touchscreen computers, and are Windows 8 ready, as well as facilitating communication and interaction, using voice, audio, text and video.
