Gabrielle Douglas, the Olympic gold medal gymnast with Region ties will be in the area for a tribute held in her honor—and the public is invited to attend. A dinner and tribute, sponsored by the Gary Chamber of Commerce, will take place 6 pm this coming Monday (10/15) at Genesis Convention Center.  According to her web site, Gabby won the most prized possession in women's gymnastics, the Olympic all around gold medal becoming the first African-American to win the all-around event.
