A 34 year old Hammond woman was killed Thursday afternoon at a Gary hair salon. The Lake County Coroner's Office reports Antoinetta Johnson was shot multiple times at Visions of Beauty Hair Salon, located on the one-thousandth block of West 5^th Avenue, and her death has been ruled a homicide. The Times reports Gary Police believe Johnson may have killed because of her connection to the death of 72 year old Carl Griffith Senior, who was shot and killed in the front yard of his Portage home last month. Published reports say Johnson linked the two suspects in Griffith's death together, the alleged shooter, 20 year old Dontaye Singletary, and 42 year old Sheaurice Major, who police allege hired Singletary to kill Griffith. The Lake County Coroner's Office reports Johnson was pronounced dead at 1:18 yesterday afternoon, after a man with a hood on his head walked into the salon just before 1pm and shot her to death.
