Annie was born and raised in Northwest Indiana with her younger sister and parents in Hammond. After spending some time out of the area chasing the radio dream she has moved back to start a family with her two main men: Jager the mutt and fiance Rob. When she is not on the air Annie enjoys cheering her favorite Chicago sports teams (Da Bears, Da Bulls, And Da Sox), hiking, and exploring new fairs and festivals! (Anything Deep Fried she's in!) Annie cannot wait to share her life with you on air and is excited to be back in the Region doing what she loves!

A worldwide wine shortage? Technically speaking, it's already happened. And what's more, things are on track to get worse. Stats compiled by Morgan Stanley Research show that the world fell 300 million cases short of demand last year, the biggest in-the-red number in half a century. The problem is rather simple despite the scale: Everyone is drinking more—especially the US and China—even as production is dropping.

Come on down, Bob Barker! The retired "Price Is Right" host is returning to the popular game show on Dec. 12 in celebration of his 90th birthday, the show confirmed on its Twitter account. Barker, who hosted the show for 35 years starting in 1972, stepped down in 2007, when comedian Drew Carey took over.  Barker has since returned to the show once, in 2009, to promote his book "Priceless Memories." The special episode celebrating Barker will be taped on Nov. 5, according to the show's website. "The Price Is Right" airs weekdays on CBS.

Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman have signed on for a sequel to surprise box office hit Olympus Has Fallen. The thriller about a terrorist attack on the White House was a big hit at the global box office earlier this year, and the film's three stars are reteaming for a follow-up, set overseas. However, director Antoine Fuqua won't be back for London Has Fallen.

Halloween Movie Playlist

Annie's Blog

The night before Halloween is the best to take in a good horror movie! Do you have any favorites? The scariest movie to me is still Steven King's "It", Pennywise ruined me! I also would rank the original Halloween movies up there, just not the witches one!

5 Halloween Must Sees:

  1. Halloween
  2. IT
  3. The Exorcist (orignal)
  4. Hocus Pocus
  5. Motel Hell

Last night they announced Snooki and Sasha Farber were going home.

Treating a friend to a 380-calorie grande pumpkin spice latte can now be done in less than 140 characters. You can now send a Starbucks coffee via a tweet. Yesterday, Starbucks launched a new @Tweetacoffee program, and it works just as you might assume. Head over to the website log in with your Starbucks account (or create a new one), put in the Twitter handle of your caffeine-loving friend and hit the green Tweet Your eGift button. Starbucks will tweet to your friend with a link to redeem a $5 gift card.

Britney Spears hits are being used by the UK's Royal Navy to scare off Somali pirates. The singer’s hits “Oops! I Did It Again” and “Baby One More Time” have proved the most effective deterrent on supertankers off the east coast of Africa. "Her songs were chosen by the security team because they thought the pirates would hate them most," merchant navy officer Rachel Owens said. "These guys can't stand Western culture or music, making Britney's hits perfect."

Best Or Worst Call Off Excuses

Annie's Blog

Have you ever tried to come up with a good excuse to miss work? New survey has found the BEST or WORST Employee excuses (depending on how you look at it) for missing work this year. My favorite: "Employee's false teeth flew out the window while driving down the highway" Here are some more that stood out:

  • Employee's favorite football team lost on Sunday so needed Monday to recover
  • Employee was quitting smoking and was grouchy
  • Employee said that someone glued her doors and windows shut so she couldn’t leave the house to come to work
  • Employee said the chemical in turkey made him fall asleep and he missed his shift
  • Employee's fake eye was falling out of its socket
  • Employee received a threatening phone call from the electric company and needed to report it to the FBI
  • Employee needed to finish Christmas shopping
  • Employee got lost and ended up in another state
  • Employee couldn’t decide what to wear
