TriCitySpecialGames
With temperatures near 90 Saturday Morning On EC Central's Football Field over 200 athletes from East Chicago, Whiting, and Hammond :”Chose to be a Winner” and participated in the 2012 Tri-City Special Games. The games got their start over 34 years ago with the first event at Roosevelt High School in 1977 and have gotten bigger as the years have passed. This year there were hundreds of volunteers on hand to help cheer on the athletes as they competed in different track and field events.

At the end of the day, the athletes celebrated their gold medals with snow cones, lunch and a dance party. After spending the day with some extraordinary athletes, I can say I am living the motto: "Get involved, become inspired.". Congratulations to all the athletes and thank you for being role models in our community! (A big thanks to Brandon, who didn't laugh at me when I couldn't keep up with him running the dash!)

Yesterday, went for another round of wedding shopping and had the worst experience! I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (see clip above)
when the sales staff thinks you are beneath their service! I came in for my appointment and immediately was looked up and down and everyone looked away. Finally I said I had an appointment and was assigned a bridal consultant. She asked my budget... after I stated what it was she rolled her eyes and said you won't find much for that price. Well excuse me! She then stuck me in a room and left to never be found again!

Fast forward 15 minutes... My bridesmaid and I started helping ourselves when we got tired of waiting! Bad mistake, first dress we slip on rips all the way down the back! (Almost peed my pants as we hurried to put the sample back on the rack!) By time another saleswoman (who was very nice) came to help the day was ruined! I had already made up my mind no matter what dress I liked there was no way I was buying it here! It's amazing how one bad attitude can ruin your experience!

Another thing I didn't like is how there were no prices listed anywhere! Anytime you asked the price the response was the same “oh we could work some deals and get it in your price range”. I just wanted to scream “No what's the price?!?” So if I said my price range was higher would the dresses price automatically get higher? I couldn't wait to get outta that shop!

Have you ever had horrible customer service that ruined your experience? Maybe you work in the service industry and have some horror stories you'd like to share? Let's talk about it on Facebook!

Yesterday, Billy Bob Thrornton was on Live With Kelly talking about his weird phobias. (Antiques and Expensive Silverware) Do you have any weird ones? I absolutely cannot hear the sound of nail clippers or nail files! It doesn't matter if you are in the other room, I will hear it! Ugh my head hurts just thinking about it! I also am like Captain Hook and cannot stand ticking clocks... give me digital all the way! I can go on and on with weird things that bother me, but I'll stop!

Are these phobias weird? What would you put on the list? Let's talk about it on Facebook!

The Top 3 were getting down to business last night on American Idol. Not only did we get to see each of them perform 3 songs, we also got a better glimpse into their personalities with their hometown visits! (Aren't the parades a little awkward?)

So overall what did you think of last night's show? I'm going to hand my pick of the night over to Phillip Phillips! Maybe there is some truth to the bias we show towards female contestants on American Idol. I don't know what it is but it feels easier to connect with them and they always get the votes! Do you think Jessica lost her front runner status last night with her song choices?

Also coming from last night's show is another rumor... this could be JLo's last season! E! Online is reporting the singer/actress/designer/mom is just too busy to be back next season. Smart move girl, use American Idol to get back on the map and then get out while you're on top! Do you think Marc Anthony is cursing somewhere?

Alright, so let's get serious... who's your Final 2? Who should replace JLo? Let's talk about it on Facebook!

Let the Battle of the Sexes begin! Who do you think is the better driver? According to new statistics the correct answer would be women! DUH! (Not that I'm biased!) Some findings of the 4AutoInsuranceQuote.com study:

80 percent of all fatal and serious car crashes are caused by male drivers.

Women are 27 percent less likely than men to cause auto accidents.

In 2007, Men were involved in 6.1 million car accidents while women were involved in 4.4 million.

Guys are arguing the stats are higher cause more of them usually drive than women. I guess this is true in my relationship, Rob does drive more. (Mainly, cause I cannot stand him as the passenger!) What is it like in your family?
