Dr. Patricia Higgins, a family practitioner in a Chicago suburb, attended the game with her 26-year-old daughter when a puck came over the glass and hit her in the face. The result: a 1-and-a-half-inch, bone-deep gash extending from the top of her nose to above her right eyebrow. 300-POUND FLYING SHARK LEAPS INTO NEW JERSEY FISHING BOAT

Two New Jersey fishermen were out on the open seas when a big one almost caught them. Clint Simek and Tom Rostron Jr. were on the Atlantic Ocean 40 miles south of New York City when an 8-foot shark grabbed one of their baits and pounced aboard their small craft. The duo ended up cowering in the aft of their 30-foot boat while the ferocious shark began violently thrashing around on deck. With the fish's two inch teeth clear for them to see, the sailors decided to wait until the fish began to tire before tying it up. In the meantime, the shark began eating everything in sight including cushions, speakers and even the boats decking through which water began to seep. The damage to the boat will cost $5,000 for a professional to fix.

EBAY NIXES AUCTION FOR SPOT IN HEAVEN AFTER HUNDREDS BID

There are some things that are never for sale, not even on eBay. A place in heaven is among them. A New Jersey man posted such a listing as a joke, he says, but was inundated with bids that reached $100,000 before the listing was pulled by the online auction giant. "I didn't think anyone would take it seriously," Ari Mandel, who put up the listing, told NBC News. "It's gotten way more attention than I expected. I really didn't expect it to blow up and go crazy the way it did."
