How was your weekend? Had a mix of emotions going on in my head! I went along with my fiance and his family as they laid to rest an amazing lady. You see, I have never known his grandmother without Alzheimer’s and I felt fortunate to get to get a glimpse into how very special she was. She had an amazing smile and caring heart that was evident by the words spoken at her memorial and the pictures put together in her slideshow. 

I also got an insider's look into one of the greatest love stories of all time. My heart melted when his grandpa told me “I knew she was the love of my life in the 6^th grade.” He went on about how her mother would always march outside and tell him to go home when she heard the porch swing stop.... “she knew we were up to no good”, he chuckled. After 65 years of marriage and three wonderful sons, she passed away holding his hand. I can only hope Rob and I can have half the marriage and life they had.

Funny how life is, immediately afterward we headed off to celebrate the first birthday of one of the cutest men out there! It was like completely switching gears... emotionally draining for sure! However, it made me realize just how grateful I am for the life I have. I'm so thankful to be home again with my family and friends, able to share in all of our moments.... happy or sad.

As I celebrate 28 years today, I can say I am truly happy and right where I need to be. Cannot wait to continue the journey! Thank you for being a part of it!
